The National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Government of India. It was established in 1997 to promote good governance in the country. The NCGG offers a variety of training and capacity-building programs for government officials, as well as an NCGG Internship Program 2023 for students and young professionals.

About the NCGG Internship Program

The NCGG Internship Program is a short-term engagement (minimum 8 weeks to maximum 6 months) ‘select students’ in various branches and units of the National Center for Good Governance, Department of Human Resources, Public Complaints and Pensions of the Government of India. The engagement is temporary to empower Indian youth by providing them with the opportunity to learn about various issues related to governance and public policy and to engage them in a way that enables them in the future to address challenges in the Citizen-oriented Way to master management. Acceptance into an apprenticeship program does not entitle you to take up permanent employment at the Centre. Internships can be assigned a specific domain/area to work in.

Promote academic research and NCGG functions by collaborating with the country’s young talents and enhancing their knowledge, skills, and theoretical training through a practical approach. The aim of this program is to provide students with insight into issues of public policy and governance for mutual benefit.

Eligibility Criteria In NCGG Internship Program 2023

The internship program is open to all Indian students studying in India or abroad.
The internship is open to students who are pursuing a postgraduate diploma/PG and higher academic degrees and are interested in doing the internship as part of their thesis/project in their curriculum or awaiting their diploma certificate after taking their final exams in the same academic year.
Students enrolled in a 4 or 5-year law and engineering program may also apply for an internship in their final year of graduation.
The age of applicants must not exceed 30 years at the time of application.
Applicants must upload a letter of recommendation from the university/institution where they are registered.

Selection Process In NCGG Internship Program 2023

Applications for internships are submitted by the Center via its website www.ncgg.org.in
Applications can be made throughout the year, if possible no later than 1 month before the planned start of the internship, clearly stating the start date;
Applicants must provide the center with all necessary information to enable them to make a decision. The center verifies information such as original value, letters of approval/recommendation, and personal identification documents at the time of registration. Otherwise, the candidate’s membership will be canceled. Submitting false information is taken very seriously;
Applications that provide incomplete information or do not meet the acceptance requirements will be automatically disqualified by the system;
The selection process consists of two stages; Pre-screening of applications for candidate selection and face-to-face (online or offline) interviews of approved candidates. NCGG will form a committee to review applications and/or conduct in-person interviews;
Based on the number of applications, required acceptance from the center for the respective month, and the area/field selected by the applicant, a face-to-face interview will be conducted, with the information provided to the applicant in advance via email.
After the selection process and personal interviews, shortlisted candidates will be announced and successful candidates will be notified via email along with notification of the joining date;
The number of internships offered cannot exceed 20 (twenty) at any time; And
Internship applications may be periodically reviewed by a review board based on NCGG requirements.

Duration

As a rule, the duration of an internship is not less than 8 (eight) weeks and not more than 6 (six) months if the internship is successfully completed and proof of experience is received.

Stipend

A combined salary/fee of INR 10,000 per month will be paid pro rata to each apprentice during the agreed period of apprenticeship based on the progress of the assignment. Other costs are not incurred.

Experience Certificate

On the recommendation of the evaluation committee and the trainee’s supervisor, a certificate of successful completion of the training will be issued by the center.

Termination of Internship

Selection of an internship program at NCGG is entirely the responsibility of the center and only if the admission criteria stated here are met. The Center may terminate the apprenticeship at any time and without giving any reason. The decision of the Center in this case is final. Each apprentice can end the apprenticeship with a week’s notice to the supervisor in charge.
