About the MeitY

Digital India Corporation has been set up by the ‘Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology. The government of India needs to innovate, develop, and deploy ICT and other emerging technologies for the benefit of the common man. It is a ‘not for profit’ Company under Section 8 of the Companies Act 2013. The Company has been spearheading the Digital India programme of the Government of India and is involved in promoting the use of technology for e-Governance/e-Health / Telemedicine, e-agriculture, ePayments, etc.

Eligibility Criteria for Winter MeitY Internship

• Students from recognized universities in India who have secured at least 60% marks in the last held degree or certificate examination and:
  • Students who have completed education under 10+2+3 pattern of education i.e., students who have completed 15 years of formal education. Or
  • who are pursuing a pre-final or final year of Engineering in the 10+2+4 pattern of education. Or
  • who are pursuing a pre-final or final year of a Diploma/Certificate course Or
  • who are pursuing pre-final or final year in the integrated degree course or dual degree of 10+2+5 pattern of education?
• The qualification may be relaxed in deserving cases based on the need of NeGD on prior approval of the Competent Authority.
• Possessing minimum qualifications as above does not guarantee an Internship in NeGD. Candidates with exposure to the intended internship, a good academic background, and higher qualifications, based on need, shall be given preference.

Duration for Winter MeitY Internship

Internship Program will be conducted twice a year – Summer Internship Programme and
Winter Internship Programme.

The minimum duration of the internship shall be two months, extendable up to one month more (total of three months), depending on the performance of the candidate, the requirement of NeGD and the time the intern is willing to spend with NeGD. Every batch of interns or individual interns will have a Mentor from NeGD preferably HOD of the Division / Project.

Application Process

. Interested and eligible students must submit their applications in the prescribed application
form available on the website.

2. These applications need to be sponsored / forwarded by the Institution where the applicant is currently enrolled in or has recently passed out.
3. 
   The Winter internship Programme 2024 will be an offline internship, which requires the
   intern to visit the organization daily to adhere to the NeGD’s working hours.

Benefits

A token stipend of ₹10,000/- per month would be paid to an Intern, subject to satisfactory performance, duly certified by his Supervisor/Mentor.Certificates will be issued by the Ministry to the Interns upon the completion of the internship and submission of the Report duly countersigned and accepted by the Competent Authority.
